In Life We Can't Be Free - Highlonesome

In Life We Can't Be Free - Highlonesome

We got a chance this week to check out Highlonesome a Milwaukee based band that plays a roots based music. The band is on tour in support of their latest record "The Unholy Gospel according to High Lonesome" on Farmageddon Records.

We were instantly in love with the Hellbilly type sound and of course the integration of the banjo into the music. The band deals with many of the darker topics in their lyrics which works well with the overall sound.

Go Check them out and enjoy a different sound. They are on tour right now in the Southeast and I promise you will enjoy the unique flavor!

Few bands actually capture the true emotion that fuels them to create music. Highlonesome of Milwaukee WI, An Americana effort, pooling together multiple "Roots Music" stylings has recently raised the bar, Thier newest release "In life we can't be free" clearly captures the darkness and pain of frontman and songwriter Noah Tyson. The album is soaked in misery, lost love & dealings with death. These boys really have something with this album, it's refreshing! In an age where just about about every style of music has been beaten to death, they have given "Roots Music Fans" a breath of fresh air with the new album.
